our roots

Our family is passionate about other families knowing where their food comes from. All of our animals are raised right here on our family farm in Central Pennsylvania. Farming is a way of life for our family. Tupper Sverduk has been raised around bison for most of his life, growing up on his parent’s bison farm in Northeastern, PA. Currently Tupper serves as Chairman of the Board for the Eastern Bison Association. He has been involved with the association since childhood, has served as their President, and has received the award of ‘Producer of the Year’ from the EBA for numerous consecutive years. Tupper graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Animal Science and Agriculture Business. Tessa Sverduk has lived in Mount Wolf her whole life, just a mile from the farm she now calls home. Tessa graduated from York College with a degree in Business and Biology. She loves all things horses and plants. Tessa is committed to supporting the local ecosystem through incorporating PA Native plants throughout the farm.

We take pride in the way we farm and raise our animals. We work closely with the National Resources Conservation Service to ensure that our farming practices are sustainable. It’s our mission to leave our land better than we found it for our children and future generations.

At The Bison Farm, our animals are raised on pasture without the use of added growth hormones or growth promoting antibiotics. The health and happiness of our animals is of the utmost importance to us; without them, we wouldn’t be who we are.

All of our animals are handled with respect and always ethically harvested at a USDA Certified Butcher.
